Aquairis Bio-Bed

Biobed, reedbed or urban wetland, it has many names but is a central component that purifies the water and contributes to a lush and vibrant environment in the landscape with plants and a teeming micro-life.

The biobed is constructed either raised or submerged, but the biobed can just as easily be an integrated part of a larger pond. The possibilities for variation are great and the design and size depend on the conditions of the site, purification requirements and biological as well as aesthetic wishes.

In simple terms, the biobed consists of a single bed with different fractions, but substrate mixtures with biochar also occur. Micronutrients are created naturally in the beds that are planted with plants. Oxygenation and the flow of the water are the prerequisites for an effective purification process.

  • Aquairis Biobed can be combined with all types of ponds and reservoirs.
  • A biobed with circulation and oxygenation can clean polluted or stagnant ponds and create healthier and livelier water.
  • A biological treatment plant that creates a microclimate, where flowering plants and visiting birds brighten the landscape.
  • The aesthetic expression meets human social needs.
